The best restaurants in Saint Lucia

0

For some of the best restaurants in St. Lucia, it’s their spectacular or romantic location that is their most memorable feature, though that doesn’t mean their food isn’t great either. At Rodney Bay, you can enjoy Thai, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian and French dishes. If you’re looking for something more local, across the island there are also plenty of places to sample Creole and Caribbean cuisine, try the plethora of locally grown fruits and vegetables, and eat fish caught the same day.

Most restaurants (but not all) offer prices on menus that exclude 10% service charge and 10% VAT, so the final bill may be much higher than you might have imagined. Don’t end up unintentionally tipping twice.

Cape Cliff

Many non-residents dine at The Cliff at Cap, the restaurant at Cap Maison, an elegant hacienda-style hotel near the northern tip of St. Lucia. The open-air restaurant’s clifftop location is sensational — frigates soar over the ocean and panoramic views stretch to Martinique on the horizon. Arrive for aperitifs while it’s still daylight: the bar has an impressive selection of rums and wines, and drinks can be taken on a wooden terrace on a rocky outcrop at the foot of the cliffs. French-Caribbean cuisine is imaginative and sophisticated, with dishes like jerk-roasted pork belly with caramelized plantain.
